About StoriesForLunch.com
StoriesForLunch.com is the independent project of radio junkie and producer A.C. Valdez. After a pretty bad breakup he started attending poetry slams at the Cantab Lounge in Cambridge, Massachusetts so he could have something to do on Wednesday nights.
Soon, he realized that the stories the poets were telling were interesting, personal, and moving. The basic premise behind the project is that everyone has at least one good story, one worth telling over and over.
In exchange for a meal, A.C. recorded many people, not just poets, and continues to this day to share their stories with you, the listener.
A.C. is now a resident of the greater Washington D.C. area. If you'd like to tell him a story, he'll buy you lunch (or dinner, whichever works for you). If you want to tell him a story, you can email him at ac@storiesforlunch.com.
The basic criteria for StoriesForLunch stories:
-A.C. would rather not leave the D.C. metro area to record a story. Sorry.
-Please be well spoken and concise, knowing the basic parts of the story you'd like to tell without having to refer to notes.
- Stories should be, but needn't always be, personal in nature, dealing with a problem or person other people can easily relate to.
How can you help SFL?
You can talk to the program manager at your favorite radio station about putting StoriesForLunch on the air. You can write to A.C. and help him get a grant so he can keep doing what he's doing. You can donate recording equipment, a story, or just email him some good vibes.
